The Smiddy, a former croft house and smithy has now been fully decorated and refurbished to provide self catering at The Old Mill.

The Smiddy sleeps 4 and is available from £500.00 per week including electricity, heating and linen. Sorry we no longer take dogs. Short breaks are also available for certain times of the year.

A stone cottage, adjoining Mill Cottage, The Smiddy looks across Loch Don to the hills of Auchnacraig. A tidal loch, Loch Don has a wealth of waterfowl in both summer and winter. Many species may be seen from the cottage.

Appointed to a high standard, The Smiddy provides space and comfort to spread out. The large newly equipped kitchen provides plenty of room. We are fortunate to have good places to eat within 3 miles, should you wish to dine out.

Being located in Lochdon, The Smiddy is centrally situated for visiting the north of the Island or Iona to the south. We recommend guests wishing to book wildlife tours maybe advised to do so in advance to ensure a place, this mainly applies to the landrover tours of the island. Bookings are taken Saturday to Saturday but we also provide weekends and short week stays during the autumn and winter. If you require further information please contact us, details below.
